Biometric onboarding at a bank.

Problem

When someone opens a bank account, their identity has to be verified. Biometric onboarding (face scan, document upload, liveness check) is the first thing a customer touches. If it breaks, they leave. If it's insecure, the bank has a problem.

Solution

I worked on the onboarding flow and verification fixes. Not glamorous work, but it's the kind of software where a bug costs more than a sprint. It costs customers and trust. I learned what "bank-grade" actually means: every change reviewed, every edge case tested, every decision documented.

How

Angular frontend. Java Spring Boot backend. Identity verification integrations. Unit and integration tests on everything.

Outcome

Shipped verification flows that real banking customers used. Learned to work in an environment where correctness beats speed.
